A new extradosed suspension bridge will be constructed along McArthur Highway in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga, near Lazatin Boulevard.
The 300-meter-long bridge will feature six lanes—three in each direction—designed to accommodate growing traffic demand. Inspired by notable bridges in the Philippines and overseas, the project is set to begin in October and is expected to be completed within two years, according to the Department of Transportation (DOTr).
During the construction phase, temporary road closures and rerouting will be implemented as part of traffic control measures. A detailed diversion plan will be released to the public once construction officially begins next month.
Obstructions such as utility poles and traffic lights will be relocated or removed to provide space for the project and to ensure public safety.
Commuters and motorists are advised to anticipate heavy traffic along McArthur Highway throughout the construction period.
